An Exploratory Research Article by Akash Mittal

It was not too long ago when I stumbled upon a rather intriguing phenomenon on social media platforms. A friend of mine had shared a snippet of a conversation with someone who he claimed was an AI language model. At first, I was quite skeptical. However, as I delved deeper into the matter, I found out that there was indeed a new advent in the field of AI, which could generate human-like texts quite convincingly. This technology is known as Generative AI, and it has garnered immense attention from technology giants worldwide.

Generative AI encompasses a wide range of technologies, ranging from machine learning-based models to natural language processing algorithms. One such example is OpenAI's ChatGPT, which is a conversational AI language model that can generate human-like text on a variety of topics. This technology has already garnered immense attention from diverse sectors, ranging from journalism to healthcare, where it can be used to provide personalized recommendations and services to clients.

However, ChatGPT is not the only generative AI technology that is being used in the industry. Big tech companies like Google, Microsoft, and Amazon have also invested heavily in this field by creating their own generative AI technologies to meet the ever-growing demands of customers. These companies have implemented generative AI in search engines, language translation software, and voice assistants, amongst others, to provide more accurate and personalized results.

One of the significant benefits of generative AI is its ability to operate autonomously, with little human intervention. This means that generative AI algorithms can be used to create vast networks of conversational bots that can interact with users seamlessly, without the need for human intervention. This has several advantages, such as 24/7 availability and scalability.

However, like all technologies, generative AI has its limitations. One of the significant challenges is the issue of misinformation and bias. Generative AI models can only generate texts based on their underlying data sets. If these data sets are biased, the resulting texts will also be biased. Furthermore, generative AI models can also be used to spread disinformation, which can have serious implications for society.
